Target Audience


 This educational activity is designed for emergency medicine, general and orthopaedic surgeons; anesthesiologists; radiologists; intensive and critical care specialists; physician extenders; registered nurses; physical and occupational therapists and other health care professionals who work in trauma care.


Objectives

Discuss the time frame in which tranexamic acid can be administered to adult/pediatric patient.

Explain UMC's experience with whole blood and tranexamic acid.

Review potential benefits of whole blood.

Identify types of pediatric vascular injuries.

Review surgical and nonsurgical manaement of pediatric vascular injuries.

Review current updates and protocols to stabalize/manage a pediatric patient.

Discuss treatment of minor thermal burns.
