Stroke and Cardiac Care Conference

Target Audience


This educational activity is designed for physicians, residents, registered nurses, first responders and rehabilitation services personnel to increase their knowledge, competence and skills in the diagnosis, treatment and current technologies related to stroke and cardiac care to improve patient outcomes.  


Objectives


Discuss effectiveness of pre-hospital stroke screening tools and current national trends.

Differentiate and compare the interaction of cardiac and neurological pathways in stroke.

Identify elements influencing effectiveness of emergent reperfusion therapy.

Introduce management of pediatric and epilepsy populations in relation to cerebrovascular disease. 

Discuss evidence-based treatment options for cardiovascular conditions.

Identify strategies for effective implementation of appropriate treatment options for cardiovascular conditions. 

Describe the role of an interdisciplinary team in the diagnosis, management and referral of patients with cardiovascular conditions.
